A downloadable game

This is a 2D point-and-click puzzle game about a seemingly normal morning routine. Explore ordinary rooms, interact with familiar objects, and solve strange puzzles hidden just beneath the surface of daily life. Inspired by the brief "The Weird and the Eerie," My Vlog begins as a simple recording of everyday tasks, but gradually slips into the surreal and the unsettling.

Inspirations:

Our inspiration comes from a series of surreal and eerie animated gifs and videos widely circulated online — such as the famous "pigeon spinning its head like a helicopter" animation.
These short, unexpected distortions of reality — where something familiar behaves in profoundly strange ways — perfectly captured the essence of the "weird and the eerie" we aimed to explore in this game.
We were fascinated by how small, sudden breaks in logic can create a dreamlike or unsettling experience without needing full horror tropes.

Intent and goals in producing the game:

We wanted to create puzzles that feel intuitive yet subtly distorted, using visual and behavioral similarities between different objects to guide players' associations.
For example, the spinning motion of the fish and the washing machine suggests a natural resemblance; the upward reach of a sunflower and the morning light hints at a shared trajectory.

Through these close but skewed parallels, we aimed to maintain a consistent absurd logic across all puzzles, encouraging players to rethink their assumptions about everyday objects.
Even the edible letters represent a surreal intuition: the idea of "feeding on knowledge" — turning something intangible into something physically consumed.

Our goal was to let players experience the "weird and the eerie" by transforming small, mundane morning routines into strange and unsettling encounters, without overtly breaking the internal logic of the world.
We wanted the familiar to become unfamiliar, suggesting that perhaps the world we know always harbors something unknowable, just beneath its surface.

Any big ideas we are working through:

One of the bigger ideas we were exploring is the tension between familiarity and alienation.
Even the most mundane activities — eating breakfast, doing laundry, reading — can slip into surreal horror when viewed from a slightly different lens.
We wanted to evoke that slight discomfort, the dreamlike sense that something is not quite right beneath the surface of daily life.
Our game is a small reflection on how fragile "normality" can be.
